Signature Psychiatric Hospital Procedures to Address COVID-19
Thank you for trusting Signature Psychiatric Hospital with your loved one’s/patient’s care. As you have heard on the news, the Coronavirus has arrived in the United States. We are writing to assure you that your loved one’s/patient’s health and safety are always our top priorities. As such, our Signature leadership team continues to monitor the rapidly changing coronavirus situation. We are following state and federal health agency recommendations, as well as recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), to ensure that we have the most up-to-date information to guide our policies and procedures.
We would like to share some additional measures we have put in place to ensure our patients’ safety:
- We have educated our staff to recognize and isolate at-risk patients.
- We have instituted a screening questionnaire for all new potential patients in order appropriately triage and limit any potential exposures.
- While we recognize the importance of family support for patient recovery, we have made the difficult decision to suspend family visits to ensure the safety of our patients. Because family support is essential in the recovery process, we encourage you to contact your loved ones via phone.
These are difficult and complex decisions, but we can assure you they have been made thoughtfully and in accordance with prioritizing the safety of our patients and staff first.
