February 1, 2021   .   North Kansas City, MO – Signature Psychiatric Hospital is proud to announce and welcome Kim Whitman, LCSW, PhD-ABD, as the new Director of our Valor Recovery Program. Dr. Whitman previously served in the role of Valor Clinical Supervisor. Kim brings over 15 years of experience to enhance our mission of working with First Responders, Active Military and Veterans with healing in the areas of:

Kim Whitman received her Masters in Social Work at New Mexico State University and is completing her PhD in Social Work in 2021, at Walden University. Her active duty service in the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss provided for practical experience including cultural and ethnic diversity, assessing gender differences, along with an interest in examining risk factors and correlates of several psychiatric disorders, trauma informed care, suicide risk and criminal justice mental health. She has investigated risk factors and resilience factors associated with the long term physical and mental health outcomes related to traumatic events. Kim brings strong leadership skills and appreciates the struggles of those who serve and sacrifice.
